Nicosia Turkish Municipality gained appreciation from citizens by doing a first in Dereboyu. In the “Street Fun” activity which started at 20:00 and continued all night, Nicosians were amused with music for hours and got pleasure from seating on the tables in the street and talking to each other. The Mayor, Cemal Bulutoğluları, also attended the activity and had a good time with citizens.    

Nicosia Turkish Municipality (NTM) organized “Street Fun” in Nicosia, Dereboyu within the framework of 50th anniversary celebrations activities on the 3rd of September. In the activity that added Nicosia a different exhaltaiton, the famous pop music singers Oğuzhan and Korhan amused people by singing songs.

Citizens who were also singing songs, had a different night in Dereboyu which was closed to traffic for 5 hours. In the activity that accrued between 20:00 and 01:00, Dj Barış and Dj Liman played the latest hits and amused the citizens.

The clipboarads of the leading companies’ of our country which contributed the 50th anniversary celebrations of the NTM were placed various places of Dereboyu and also were reflected to various places by laser in Dereboyu.  

Bulutoğluları: “We make effort in order to hold Nicosians in Nicosia”

The Mayor of the NTM, Cemal Bulutoğluları spoke one by one to each of the citizens. Citizens thanked the Mayor Bulutoğluları by stating that Dereboyu hosted such an event for the first time.

Stating that the purpose is to supply the Nicosians the entertainment opportunity, Bulutoğluları said “ Nicosia has enough basic facilities for enterainment. As NTM, we should support the owners of the cafes and restaurants by all means. We make effort in order to hold Nicosians in Nicosia”.

Emphasizing that the citizens showed positive reaction to the event, Bulutoğluları stated that they will start attempts for closing Dereboyu street twice a week and so the tradesmen will benefit from this and entertainment opportunity will be supplied to the citizens.

Emphasizing that his main duty as a Mayor is to make the citizens happy, Bulutoğluları stated that “It is a pride of ours if we made people happy in this period of economical crisis”.
