The Nicosia Turkish Municipality (NTM) took the first step to prepare a project for the sewerage and drainage infrustructure of Hamitköy and Haspolat. An agreement for the levelment measurement which cover a 100 km of  length was signed on 10th of June, 2009 between NTM and Landmark Map Cadastre Office Limited Company.

NTM Deputy Mayor Celal Cin and Director of Landmark Map Cadastre Office Hüseyin Kaya signed the agreement. NTM Deputy Mayor Celal Cin stated that as a result of the works that will be implemented at Hamitköy and Haspolat districts,  their sewerage and drainage projects will be prepared and then a tender will be opened. Deputy Mayor Cin added that their aim is to complete the works in 2 months. Head of NTM Sewerage Department, Faik Özkaynak was also present at the signing ceremony.
