The Unit of European services for Senior Citizens of the Nicosia Turkish Municipality is continuing to provide services professionally. Besides the social services, some health services like diabetic tests and measuring blood pressure are routinely providing to the 2500 registered members of the European Services for Senior Citizens Unit of the NTM. The Unit that provides psychological support, diabetic, blood tests, hairdressing and technical services to its members is working non-stop.

Within this framework, the European Services for Senior Citizens Unit provided 576.718 diabetic tests and blood pressure measuring and took out 1274 senior citizens to the traditionally organized autumn trip in the year 2011.

Until now, the unit provided socio psychological support 1295 times, and physiotherapy 427 times. The unit also gave a New Year celebration meal for 120 members at the Golden Tulip Hotel, and technical support for 667 members. The European Services for Senior Citizens Unit did not rule out the members of the NTM on days like Mothers’ and Fathers’ days, and gave numerous presents. The unit also provides transportation services for its members. The Mayor Bulutoğluları mentioned that, everyone will be old one day, and they must be treated in care. The Mayor also added that, they work hard for improving the available services for the senior citizens.
