Bulutoğluları: Our goal is to make Nicosia gain modern cultural buildings.

The NTM Theatre Building’s first stage has been completed and the construction of the second stage has been started which will bring a modern vision to Nicosia. The theatre building has been designed as a full equipped cultural center. At the technical meeting, the project owners Burhan Atun, Mehmet Aydın Öncülay, NTM’s Head of the Projects Department Ali Güralp, NTM Arts and Culture Coordinator Yaşar Ersoy, the Municipal Architect İbrahim Beşir, Engineer Hüseyin Çakır and the project contractor Savaş Gerçek and architects, engineers were present. At the meeting, the first stage of the project was reviewed and the second stage works were planned to be started.

NTM Mayor Bulutoğluları stated that the theatre building project has been accelerated in order to bring the project to life as soon as possible. Also Bulutoğluları highlighted that this project will contribute positively to the capital city Nicosia’s arts and culture life, and added that, as NTM they are doing what the government is not doing.

Bulutoğluları denoted that besides the Municipality, the Turkish Financial Support Team made a big contribution to the Project and thanked everyone especially Yaşar Ersoy and the architects who followed this project and contributed to its realization.

Ersoy: The Theatre Project is must for Modernity.

NTM Culture and Art Coordinator, Yaşar Ersoy denoted that they have struggled with many problems and troubles for long years but they didn’t give up the theatre project because it will make Nicosia gain a modern vision of culture and arts. Ersoy also connoted that the theatre building is being constructed with the courage and contributions of the Mayor, Cemal Bulutoğluları and the Municipal Council Members and he thanked them. Ersoy highlighted that this is the first theatre building project which is generated in the history of our country and he added that their aim is to create a developed community in the sense of culture and art.
