A protocol has been
signed on 6th January 2012 between the Mayor of
the Nicosia Turkish Municipality, Cemal
Bulutoğluları and the Chairman of the Yunus Emre
Institute, Prof. Dr. Ali Fuat Bilkan in order to
open the Yunus Emre Turkish Culture Center in
Nicosia. Yunus Emre Foundation Management Board
Member Prof.Dr.Abdurrahman Güzel, Director of
Academy Cyprus Development Platform Adem Koç and
Foundation Administration Management Board
Chairman Işılay Arkan were also present at the
signing ceremony.
Birkan: “We will
carry the Institute's works to the TRNC”
At the signing
ceremony, the Chairman of Yunus Emre Institute,
Prof. Dr. Ali Fuat Bilkan stated that the
foundation's works will be carried to TRNC with
the protocol signed between the NTM and Yunus
Emre Institute, which is active in nearly 20
countries. Stating that they aim to contribute
language, culture, art and literary activities
of NTM, Birkan offered his best wishes about the
protocol

is very important to have headquarter of this
internationally experienced foundation in
Nicosia
The Mayor of NTM,
Cemal Bulutoğluları stated his happiness on the
opening of the Yunus Emre Foundation in TRNC
which is an active foundation in many countries
and realizing international activities and added
that he will implement important projects with
the foundation in the field of culture and arts.
Bulutoğluları denoted that NTM is also
internationally recognized and has many sister
cities and expressed that he is very happy to be
in cooperation with a foundation which has
internationally experienced. Bulutoğluları
thanked the Chairman Bilkan and Board Member
Güzel for their visit and presented plaque to
them.

Yunus Emre
Institute that acts depending on Yunus Emre
Foundation is aiming to provide contribution
through perfect academics and researchers in
fields of Turkish Language, history, culture,
arts and music and also implement education and
training applications through programmes of
certificates. The Foundation is continuing to
act in the centers in Albania, Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Belgium, England, Kazakhistan,
Kosovo, Lebanon, Macedonia, Romania, Syria,
Egypt, Japan, Iran and Jordan.
