“You are all both my mother and my father”

Today, the spring lunch has been given to nearly 200 member of senior citizens by the Nicosia Turkish Municipality (NTM), European Services for the Senior Citizens Unit at Gelik Restaurant.

Besides the Mayor Cemal Bulutoğluları, the Deputy Mayor of the NTM, Celal Cin, the Town Clerk, Aşkan Cemal Efe, the Council Members Fatma Sabri and Derviş Peynirci attended the lunch. The Mayor of the NTM, Cemal Bulutoğluları entered to the hall with applause and shaked hands of every senior citizen and chat with them.

Bulutoğluları: “Providing services to you is very important for me”

The Mayor Bulutoğluları made a speech in the lunch and stated that as the NTM, they pay great importance to the senior citizens and that they will continue to arrange this kind of organizations. Bulutoğluları also stated that before he came on duty as a Mayor, these kind of activities were being implemented through the external sources, but now it has been changed and the Nicosia Turkish Municipality is implementing these organizations with its own sources.

 Stating that there are some candidates for mayoralty who object this situation and try to prevent this service that senior citizens get, Bulutoğluları connoted that giving services to the senior citizens is important and that nobody will be able to prevent this beauty.

Being affected during his speech, Bulutoğluları said “I have lost my mother recently but you are both my mother and my father” and drew great applause from the senior citizens at the lunch.

Spring Lunch will continue 4 days

The senior citizens sang songs and danced during the activity. The senior citizens didn’t forget to thank the Mayor Bulutoğluları, for implementing such a beautiful activity.

The spring lunches of the European Services for Senior Citizens Department will continue 4 days. During this period, all the senior citizens will become a part of a social activity and enjoy by attending these lunches.
