While Economic crisis keeps affecting the country, the Nicosia Turkish Municipality returns what it gets from people.

Ongoing investments of the NTM are over 50 million €.

The NTM never stops developing Nicosia, while giving importance to constructing permanent works. The cost of ongoing 17 tenders is over 50 million € and 28 subcontractor companies are making an effort to give better outlook to Nicosia.

The projects are mainly carried out with the NTM’s budget and the donations from Turkey and the EU. “The reason why we are here, the reason is because people trust us, and the works we do. We return what we get from the people, and the works that we do will last forever in the future,” said Bulutoğluları.

Implementing its works with highest performance with the aim of creating a modern Capital, Nicosia Turkish Municipality (NTM) continues its services even in crisis environment.

While NTM is working for solving the main problems of Nicosia and making the city along with more livable with the 17 ongoing tenders, the total cost of aforementioned tenders reaches upto 50 million Euros.

Thanks to the projects being carried out with the main resources of the NTM, support from the Republic of Turkey and the European Union, Nicosia is progressing towards modern cities category. With the help of the works given to 28 sub-contractors, important steps were taken about landscaping and the organisation of the city.

In Nicosia where infrastructural and environmental planning as well as other investments continue non-stop, the quality of service given to citizens increase in tandern.

Intense works for Haspolat Treatment Plant

a big stap has been also taken for collecting sewage, one of the biggest problems of Nicosia, in a modern facility. Instead of Haspolat Treatment Plant which completed its service life because it exceeded its capacity, common tender with Nicosia Greek Municipality was opened through European Union for constructing a modern facility where the latest technologies will be used and can carry the capacity of future decades. When this project whose tender was finished in past weeks, will be completed one of the biggest problems of Nicosia will also be solved.

The projects of modern slaughterhouse and multi-storey car park are under way.

Cemal Bulutoğluları,the Mayor of the NTM,  always acts with the principle of gaining permanent works to Nicosia. The works of other 2 big projects which Cemal Bulutoğluları gives special importance to, are continuing non-stop. After the groundbreaking ceremony,  the construction of the   Mahmutpaşa Multi-storey Car Park is developing fast. The Municipality is using the `build-operate-transfer` model which is used  all around world as role model. When the construction of this car park will be finished it will be the solution for the park problem of Nicosians. This project which also includes various shops is aiming to be a final solution to the park problem in the Walled City.

The Modern Slaughterhouse Project, which will provide all the citizens with the opportunity to consume healthy meat, is another important ongoing permanent work. In the modern slaughterhouse where various inspections will be implemented and the cutting will be done with rail system same with Europe, unhealthy meat cutting will be prevented and safe meat consuming will be provided. Nicosia will reach permanent modern foundations for meat cutting with the Modern Slaughterhouse which is planned to be completed in the following months.

The Theatre Building of the Capital is a “Culture and Art Masterpiece”

The Theatre Building of the Capital, which is a very big complex and has been designed for show and education purposes will make an important contribution to our country’s culture and art. In the building, which will host various cultural and artistic activities, various shows, concerts and plays will take place everyday. The construction of the building which is described as “Culture and Art Masterpiece” is continuing nonstop.

Infrastructure works are still continuing

The infrastructure works, which have been started during the first period of Cemal Bulutoğluları, are still continuing. The changing works of the water pipes and the extension works of the sewerage network are almost finished. The infrastructure works are especially focused on Haspolat and Hamitköy districts. Many tenders are being opened for the infrastructure works of these districts and the service network is being expanded to bring more municipal services to Haspolat and Hamitköy.

The landscaping works of the city are still continuing

Promising that they will give more importance to the superstructure works during this new period, the Mayor of the Nicosia Turkish Municipality, Cemal Bulutoğluları denoted that the investment items are reserved for the landscaping of the city, especially for pavement and asphalting works. While new tenders are being opened for giving the city a more arranged and green view, the works for the reconstruction of the parks are also continuing.

Bulutoğluları highlighted that 17 tenders are continuing and their total cost is 50 million Euros. Bulutoğluları also added that the works are given to 28 different subcontractors and by this way lots of work has been done faster in Nicosia. The Mayor Bulutoğluları connoted that they return what they get from the public as investment and services. He also thanked the Republic of Turkey Investment Support Team and the European Union for their close interest and support.
